Mental health support

Mental health support in the community.  Various support is available in the community including Befriending services, Wellbeing and support groups, Counselling, Crisis support, day and evening.

Wellbeing House

Short term stay (up to 7 days) at the Wellbeing House for those people who want to enhance their mental health and wellbeing.  The service is free for those who want to enhance their mental health and wellbeing.  It provides a place of sanctuary, where people can receive support to help them stabilise themselves, and prevent a deterioration in their mental health and wellbeing. 
The person must be:

  • Aged 18 or over at the point of stay
  • Have a home to return to after a seven-day stay
  • In emotional distress but not currently showing crisis behaviours that would impact on other people staying in the Wellbeing House
  • Able to positively benefit from a period of peace, calm and additional support
  • Free from the influence of alcohol or drugs
  • Able to stay in a house with shared kitchen and living room (there are ensuite bathrooms)
  • Capable of personal care and self-catering
