Accessibility Policy

Introduction

We want everyone to have a friendly, simple and accessible experience on our website. Our aim is to make sure as many people as possible can use it easily and independently.

What you can do:

You should be able to:

  • Use the website and referral forms on any device (desktop, laptop, tablet or phone).
  • Navigate the site with just a keyboard.
  • Zoom in on text and images.
  • Use a screen reader to access content.

Simple navigation

To make moving around the website simple, we:

  • Use clear navigation so you always know where you are.
  • Provide a footer with quick links to the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.

Making a referral

We have designed the referral forms to be straightforward:

  • A large button shows clearly where to start.
  • Buttons are spaced apart to avoid mistakes.
  • Icons are used only where helpful, not to add complexity.
  • All form fields have clear labels.
  • Date selection is simple, with an easy-to-use calendar.
  • Dropdown lists help you pick the right option quickly.
  • A left-hand menu shows where you are in the form.
  • Helper text is included where you may need guidance.
  • Error messages highlight exactly where to fix mistakes.
  • Required fields are marked with an asterisk (*).
  • After submitting, you’ll see a confirmation screen with your referral details and reference code.

Clear content

We want our content to be easy to read:

  • Strong colour contrast ensures text is readable. Colours are checked against WCAG 2.2 and the APCA standard.
  • Line spacing supports readability.
  • Buttons are large enough to use easily.
  • Images are kept to a minimum and always include text descriptions.
  • Headings are used in different sizes to make scanning pages quick and easy.

Design and development considerations

Accessibility is part of how we design and build:

  • Buttons show hover states when you move over them.
  • Images and videos are scaled and optimised for faster loading.
  • Links are clearly labelled.
  • A "Skip to content" button lets keyboard and screen reader users jump straight to the main content.

Compliance with accessibility standards

Our website is developed using the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2. We are working towards meeting the AA standard. We also follow the APCA contrast approach to make sure text is truly readable.
