Dorothy House

They provide care as close as possible to where a patient lives, covering BaNES (Bath and North East Somerset), and parts of Somerset and Wiltshire.  They have 10 Community Palliative Care Teams covering the area providing physical, psychological and spiritual support.

Specialist palliative care

Dorothy House has a team of experts who provide specialist palliative care and will see patients at home, in a clinic setting or in a care home. They work closely with GPs, community nursing teams, hospital staff and other healthcare professionals to ensure a high standard of care and support. 

Services delivered in the community or at their main headquarters in Winsley include:

• Community Palliative Care Teams: Locally focussed, multi-disciplinary teams
• Hospice at Home (H@H): Healthcare assistants providing end of life care in the community
• Therapies: Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Lymphoedema Service, Complementary Therapy, Creative Arts, Nutrition
• Family Support Services: Adult social work, children and young people’s service, bereavement services, psychological support, spiritual support, companions service
• Day Services: Nurse-led services, clinics and a range of informal wellbeing, relaxation, exercise and social groups
