DHI Developing Health & Independence
DHI is a social inclusion charity that helps people live healthy, independent lives. They offer support with housing and homelessness, mental health, employment and skills, and drug and alcohol recovery.
DHI's services include:-
Housing Supported housing: Accommodation at three locations for people in recovery from problematic drug or alcohol use.
Reach service: Supports people with free, independent advice on housing issues such as rent arrears, unsafe housing, repairs and benefits
Hospital Discharge Team: Based at the RUH, helping patients who are homeless or at risk of homelessness.
Outreach Service: Alongside Julian House, we work with people sleeping rough, helping them access shelter and support.
Home Turf Lettings: Not-for-profit letting agency offers private rentals to people on low incomes.
Housing First: 20 tenancies for people with complex needs, offering housing with wraparound support. Drug & Alcohol Services Training for Professionals: around young people and drugs, alcohol and risky behaviours, including sessions for teachers, funded by Children in Need.
The Wrap: An online hub with honest advice for young people and professionals on drugs, alcohol and risky behaviours. thewrapdhi.org.uk I
Individual Placement and Support (IPS): Employment service helping people in treatment find and keep jobs.
Bereavement Through Addiction: Monthly support group for those who’ve lost someone to addiction.
Criminal Justice Services Specialist Community Orders: Including support through Mental Health Treatment Requirements, as part of the Integrated Non-Custodial Service. These help clients to address underlying causes to reduce reoffending.
