Family Hub opens in Twerton
A new Best Start Family Hub created with the community to bring family support services under one roof is opening in Twerton on September 10. The Family Hub brings together health services, education providers, community groups and support services in a welcoming space where families can access information and advice.
The Best Start Family Hub is part of the national Best Start in Life programme, which aims to ensure children and families can access the support they need as early as possible.
Families, schools, voluntary organisations and other local partners have helped develop the Hub as a friendly space that supports families from pregnancy to adulthood.
The Best Start Family Hub in Twerton is the first to open in Bath and North East Somerset, with more to follow. In Bath and North East Somerset, the Best Start in Life programme will:
- Bring local services together through Best Start Family Hubs, making it easier for families to get the support they need.
- Improve access to high-quality early education and childcare, particularly for children facing disadvantage or with additional needs.
- Strengthen early years services so that all children receive high-quality support, with extra help available as early as possible for those who need it.
The Community Wellbeing Hub is delighted to be supporting the new Family hubs across Bath and North East Somerset Council. The CWH has a new Connector role, starting in the Autumn, and will support families to access services to meet their needs.
