Supporting people interested in working for themselves to offer care and support
Community Catalysts are hosting a free event, called ‘Starting a Business Supporting People in Their Homes or the Community’, at the Hollies in Midsomer Norton on 26th June between 9.30am and 2.30pm.
Community Catalysts and business consultancy Cool Ventures, two BANES Council commissioned services, are joining forces to provide information and support to local residents interested in setting up to work for themselves providing care and support.
Join the event if you want to earn a living from making a difference in the lives of older and disabled people. With or without a background in professional care, if you have a passion to work with people and want to be your own boss, this event will give you the knowledge, resources and confidence you will need.
They use a simple, tried, and tested approach that includes ongoing support, and help you use your talents and skills to set up your own small enterprise. More than 20 people have already joined the free programme, generating an income from offers such as, Nordic walking and falls prevention advice, to support with getting washed and dressed, or cooking a favourite meal at home.
This event is run by social enterprise Community Catalysts and business consultancy Cool Ventures, both funded by Bath & North East Somerset Council and the UK Government through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund.
