Housing Advice and options

The Community Wellbeing Hub (CWH) brings together partners that offer support to people who need help and advice regarding housing advice and options. Partners will work together to ensure that the right support is offered to meet the needs of the person and where necessary, will refer to other services.

Developing Health and Independence (DHI) (Reach)

DHI's home support, known as Reach, is a partnership between DHI, Stonham (part of HomeGroup) and Clean Slate. They provide a combination of practical and emotional support to help people live independently and develop useful life skills. Support can range from one-off advice to ongoing support up to a maximum of 2 years, although most support cases are closed within six months. A housing need can include understanding your housing rights and responsibilities, rent arrears, support to find or move to suitable housing, repair issues, victim or perpetrator of anti-social behaviour affecting housing, need help with a new tenancy, applying for housing-related grants, developing the skills to live independently in your own accommodation.

Age UK

Age UK can help people over the age 60+. They can offer general housing advice, including the threat of homelessness. The teams can also help with claiming any relevant benefits, including attendance allowance, pension credit, housing benefit, council tax support, state pension, DLA and PIP reviews, water rates discount, carers allowance, access to NHS low-income scheme for dental and optician treatment, apply for charitable grants.

Curo

Curo is a local housing provided that offer tenants with a range of support including tenancy advice, repairs and servicing, home improvements, safety improvements, sheltered housing, anti-social behaviour. They also provide tenants support with managing their money or navigating the benefits system.

We Care Home Improvements

We Care Home Improvements provides help to homeowners and private tenants. Support includes minor repairs, such as repairing a leaking tap, through to help when you leave hospital or advice on adapting your home, including deep cleans and clutters and any work that is necessary to support discharge. There may be a charge for this service.

Live Well B&NES (Council)

Live Well B&NES provides impartial information and signposting to many services, groups and organisations across the Bath & North East Somerset area. The site is split into three areas of need, providing support to adults to continue living independently, information to support young people with special educational needs and/or disabilities and parenting support to families including Ofsted registered childcare.
